Hi there...

Heres the situation so far....I removed my female convict from my community 65 gal. She was tearin up my red tail shark and she just had to go...so i added her to her own 29 gal tank...Now i had another threadon this forum that said i should add a female and a male at the same time...but because of her agressive nature she went in 2 days ahead of the male....Now when i added the male i changed around the decor and added a few plants...We'll so far all thats happened is she has chased him to the top corner of the tank and if he moves she chases him around till he goes back up there...he is a bit smaller than her..not much though...is this common...or is this just a sign i should try with another male??
I just added him today so i am going to give him a day or two to settle...my ifs has a 5 day return....

Any help would be greatly welcome..

Thnx for any replies!

Here's a method I've used with success to get cichlids to get along, especially with large agressive ones. (never tried it with smaller ones)

If the female was in first, and is larger than the male, she will beat the crap out of him, so what I did was drop a tank divider right down the middle to let them get used to each other for a day or so....then I let them together. She'll chase him for awhile, and then maybe he'll chaser her. Eventually they'll calm down and be fine together.

note: I've only done this with Red Devils and Green Terrors, never tried it with a convict, so can't promise it'll work.

:D Thnx for the reply unforgiven...actually to my surprise..i woke up this morning to fins him and her swimmin together and no agressiveness what so ever....She is in the gravel shakkin around and then swimmin to him and they seem to be doin ok together...Talk about easy dater...Hope i see some eggs in the next few days....Anyone know ow long tht usually takes?? Shes be and pink :p
Thnx again for any replies

We'll there goes my whole little dream...im starting to see pink dots on her...so i guess no babies...So...should i take her back ...or can i just try to get a male and leave the two females...I'm thinkin take her back...but some advice would be great :p

Thnx
