Shell-Dwelling Cichlids?

What are they exactly? I love cichlids but I have to wait until I can move out to get a big enough tank. Mom won't let me
 
So, I heard shell-dwelling cichlids can be kept in pretty small tanks. What exactly are these shell-dwellers called? Thanks.

I know, I looked it up already. I couldn't find anything in the beginning so I posted here, but I found something later on.
Thanks anyways, I think I'll save up to get six multi's.
