Would 'White Cloud Mountain Minnows' be a good tank mate with Shell dwellers...

as they predominantly swim in the upper layers... are placid... are fast enough to swim away from any aggressive shellie behaviour and are not large enough to eat any shellie fry...

I had some in with my L. ocellatus until I saw a WCMM swimming around with an occie fry in it's mouth. I think it depends on the size of the tank and what kind of shellies you are keeping, as some species protect their fry better than others. I've noticed my L. ocellatus kick their fry out of the shell alot sooner than my L. multifasciatus.

Other than they might pick off the occasional fry, I think they make decent tankmates if you're looking to add some activity to the upper level of your tank, provided you don't keep your tank too warm.

I dont see any probs with it unless your keeping strappersii, they'll fight off fish three times their size and then turn around and eat their fry from stress!

Multies would be fun to watch, if and when you do, bring some pics back please

:D
