I've had my ten gallon tank up and running for about 2 months now and it wouldn't cycle for the longest. Now it is almost through with it's cycle and the pH has dropped drastically from a 7.6 to a 6!!!

It's causing my mystery snails shell to corode and no matter what I do to fix the pH problem it ALWAYS drops to 6 again.

What is your tap ph.
Need size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Need to look at your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate reading.

Sure no problem. Tested it like two days ago. Let me get my readings.

Ten Gallons

1 Small Pleco
1 Ivory Mystery Snail
6 Australian Rainbows

Tap Water Reading - pH:7.6

Fish Tank Readings as of March 10, 2008:

pH: 6.0
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 2ppm
Nitrate: 10ppm

----------

Looks like it's on it's way out of cycleing.
It only took a few days for it to do it.

I had fizz correcters for pH and I added one but it almost immediately goes back from 7.4 - 6.0

Don't use ph adjusters there more trouble than there worth.
The high nitrite reading can alter ph so just leave it alone.

my ph is about 6.2 although the rest of my readings are spot on and a mate at the local pet supliers says he s been having simalr probs
