Shedding Tail

My betta CT seems to of shed a perfect strand of its CT tail I can see no sign of which fin it came from on his body and there are no bite marks on him or the strand. Any ideas?

did he catch it on anything in the tank or could it have been sucking into the impellar in your filter? or maybe he's biting it.

No damage on the strand at all as far as I can see and it was next to the filter but unsure whether it got sucked in he doesn't normally have a problem with the suction. Impellor is 3-4" away from the inlet he has long fins but not that long.

Well he couldnt of caught it on the impellor nor could he done it on the fliter suckion if he has never had problems with this before. Maybe the suckion of thr tank made it go towards the filter but doesnt mean it was done near it. If there is nothing that could of caught it on and no other fish which coul of done this then all I can say is that he is bitting it like above post did
