She Bit Me!

I love my little cutie, my tiny blue crowntail girl. I fed her last night and took her lid off. She came to the surface and got all excited I put my finger in and I swear she bit me. Tried to get hubby to do it but he wouldnt!!

I had that happen with one of my males. I was cleaning out his tank and felt a nip, frightened the life out of me!

lol if i put my finger in the tank and move it about fast my crowntail flares at it then bites at it, it feels funny lol.

he also bit my knuckle when it was dipping in the water whilst using the gravel cleaner, that was an unexpected bite

i have never had that happen with any of my bettas but i have got a tinfoil barb and he has a massive nip-athon at your hand when cleaning the tank.

Awww how cute! my old female paradise gourami used to nip at me when I put my hand in the tank. And my boyfriend had a chunk of nail taken off of his thumb when he got bit by his big male convict.

I had one male betta that would bite your finger any time you put your finger in the bowl. You'd think he'd learn, but he never did. I thought it was cute myself! I was always afraid I'd make him sick though by doing that.

When I had guppies they will nibble your arm while cleaning the substrate.

guppies do that to me when i had them. but would a betta hurt u?

It doesn't really hurt, just surprises you more than anything!

my bettas do that sometimes, they want to be left alone and your just sticking your hand in the tank, how rude they think
my kissing gouramie my dad use to have often kissed peoples hands, or that sort of thing, he might have been trying to bite us, but it wasnt painfull or anything, just a peck.

my male does this, he will take bloodworms off my fingertip! i gave him a ball of freeze-dried tubifex the other day and he was shaking it about in his mouth like a wee shark!!
