Is it possible to have 2 sharks together ? An albino shark and a red tail shark ?

The albino shark is very territorial and i may have to take it back to the shop but the red tail finned shark seems pretty cool and more of a fish than a predator..

Any ideas peeps ?

Red Tail Sharks are very aggressive towards there own kind. Its not good to keep more then one in a tank. You might be able to keep 6 or more of them together, but you would need a really big tank and a lot of hiding places. If you just keep 1 or 2, the biggest one will make the littler one miserable..

EDIT: spelling

Not sure what species your albino is, and it would help to know how big the aquarium is. I wouldn't recommend more than one in anything less than a 3-4 foot tank. It isn't that eny of these "sharks" are predatory, it's that they are territorial. Now, there other "sharks" that are, in reality, catfish. Some grow quite large. Most have big mouths, and are piscivorous (fish eater). If your're albino falls into the latter category, you may very well want to trade it in for the red-tailed shark. If you do, make sure you give hime a "home base": a preformed cave, pile of boulders, etc., for it to feel most comfortable.

Agree with the above..you can usually keep 1 in a reasonable size tank but when they reach a 'puberty' age, they start to get quite territorial (and size!). You could possibly take back the albino, keep the RTBS for a bit, and then rehome him once he reaches that age?

Thanks guys, the red tail shark seems much more friendly... Think ill do a trade witht he albino in the LFS (hopefully)

I have 2 Red Tail Sharks who do not get along at all in the same tank, one dominates the other so badly, it is at least 1 inch larger in size (they were equal when purchased).

I have them in separate tanks with clowns, platty's ans swords and they both individually get along well with the community.

Before i sold him, I had a rainbow shark that would even terrorize flying fox(es) because the body shape was similar (a guess). He killed 2 of 6 before I got them moved to another tank.
