I have been treating my tank for ich. Just checked on my fish to see how they are doing they look really bad. the 2 irredecent sharks have red streaks on their lower third and their bottom fins are red. One looks like his nose is all scrapped up. They looked fine about 3 hours ago. All the the neons look almost completely colorless. the danios seem unaffected. The 2 clowns I don't know about they are in the cave. I have been using nox ich and have my temp set to 84. What would you suggest as possible causes?

red streaks in the fins suggests sceptaceimia (blood poisoning)
it can be treated if caught early enough, IE has not reached the body.

you need to treat with a wide range antibiotic and ensure your water parameters stay good.

I am wondering if you are only using half treatments as you have scaless fish and using full treatments can kill them

I have been using the ich treatment at half strength. I did a water change after posting and the clowns came out and looked fine. I had blood poisoning once myself its no joke. The one shark looks ok today the other he has a pink color to him instead of grey his pec fins are almost red. It has been suggested to raise the temp of my tank to 88-90 and drop the ich meds. I might try that if the fish don't respond well to the ich treatment.

Septicemia.
Need to look at your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Size of tank in gallons or litres.
Them shark grow massive shouldn't really be kept in aquariums.
How big are the sharks now.

Here is my rule of thumb don't raise more than 4 degrees in a 24 hour period.

What are your water stats???
I had a pleco and goldfish with septicimia, I treated with Mardel's Tetracycline....it worked wonders!

The water tests all looked good. The shark that didn't look too bad died a few hours ago. I bought a 10 gallon to treat the remaining fish. It is too costly to keep pouring enough meds in my 90 gallon. I bought some mardel tetracycline and added it. None of the remaing fish have ich but I gave the 10 gallon a half dose. Hopefully by leaving the 90 empty the remaining ich will die before the fish are back in there. There also seems to be a lot of white slimy stuff growing on the rubber plant I have and the silicone in the tank. Is this stuff harmless?
