I have two bala sharks 3 1/2" long and one has misty grey pupils to his eyes. The other has jet black eyes all over. Neither seem to have a sight problem. Does anyone know what this is????

:) Thanks

have they always been misty colored, or did you just notice it recently? could be the beginning of a bacteria infection from scraping it on something. But if it has always been like that I wouldn't worry about it.

They have always been like that since I have had them (about 4 months).

Have been really lucky cos I havent had any problems in the tank so far and all my fish seem to be growing nicely. Dont think it is something that is on the surface of the eye.

a couple of mine have the same thing, and it doesn't seem to present any problems to them.

Usually clears up on it's own, provided the water quality is good.

Ian.

since they have always been like that......I wouldn't worry about it. As mentioned already it should clear up on its own and if not then it still shouldn't be a problem...Things that this are common in many fish but because of the size of the bala's eyes in comparison to other fish we just notice it more often.

Just keep your water quality good and you should have no problems!
