Hi,

I have decided to share my secret fry mix for guppies and platies and mollies! As I have had great success with it. It took a group of newborn fry a week to grow to a quarter of their adult size!

The mix is:

1/3 Liquifry No.3

1/3 Hikari First bites

1/3 Hikari guppy food.

This makes them grow so well because hikari guppy food is 59% protein and Hikari first bites is 54% protein and liquifry No.3 is 45% protein. So overall it is a high protein diet.

This only needs to be fed 2-3 times daily in small amounts to fry until they are a third of their adult size. As well a this I fed them frozen daphnia that also helped. When the get to a third of their adult size you should then feed finely chopped spinach to give the a bit of vegetables for a balanced diet.

Thanks,

wow great info, i was only feeding crushed flakes. maybe this is why my fry take forever to grow LOL. How long does it take a Fry to grow about 1inch in size anyhow, i had mines for almost 3 months and they are still the size of a grain of rice :(

Good tip> I'm feeding mine on crushed flake and some have grown much faster than others. (Just found another batch of 30 Swordtails yesterday > It's amazing how much difference there is between them & the 1month old fry!)

How quickly they grow depends on the % of protien in the food. That is why fry will grow a lot faster when fed on fry food because normal flake food has lower protien percentage than fry food. So fry food is so much better than crushed flake because it has the right nutritional value for the fry which means they will grow faster and stronger.

So my mix would reach the frys nutritional value.

^ Dude, i just feed Frozen Baby Brine shrimp with fantastic results. Mine probably havent grown as fast as yours, but fast enough that im content. Instead of Spinach i use Spirulina Flake, very very good for their immune system. I feed all my fish Spirulina and my fish havent been sick in the last 4 months, and i've had none die, and there as active as ever, and there colors are REALLY showing ( Spirulina is VERY VERY good for the fish, and is a natural color enhancer). My guppy fry are almost a week old, and have tripled in size!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can get pics later if you want! I owuld LOVE to see pics of yours aswell.

Pics coming soon! :) . As well it is good to give them spirinula not only does it boost the immune system it is a agressive colour enhancer. To make this mix work even better it is adviseable to feed baby brine shrimp or daphnia every 3 days.

Cool! i might try that! do u think that mix would work on mosquito fish fry? and wut does LFS mean?

Dude, they cant possibly be 1 week old. They are wayyy to big, and they already have there color. Color dosent start to develop like tha tuntil they are 4-8 weeks old. But those fry are Monsters!

My fry have black on there tail aswell. Im sorry, i just done belive that they are 1 week old. Do you have one from today? Because then it would have been a week, and they should have doubled in size. Plus, that breeder is to small to have that many fish get that big. Sorry, but i just dont belive it.

The fry were quite big when they were born as well.

Ok sorry to say this but the video is of them when they were 3 weeks old.

SORRY MIX UP OF THE VIDEOS

now i feel stupid

Ohh how could i be soo dumb..........

But even when they were a week old they were still very big for guppy fry!

My fry are about 2 weeks old i belive. They have grown very fast. At 3 weeks, that size is beliveable, mine will be about that size or bigger in a week. But still, they do look pretty big!
