Sexing Rams

Hi

I have one of these of my friend and i am going to buy another one as she seems to be really shy, i trying to find out the sex but i have problems, maybe someone with a bit more experience could help me? It seems to be a male to me.

I'm no expert but GBRs are relatively easy - the most reliable difference is that females have blue scales in the black blotch. I'd say it's a male.

^ I would agree. The dorsal fin is very tall and pointed = MALE.

Agreed. female are less colourfull and usually smaller and rounder

on the males the 3rd/4th spine on the dorsal fin is longer (black bit)

you wanna get some females in there to even them out otherwise thay can get a bit nippy
