I've searched this forum several times over, but I still can't do it..

My guppies are about 2 months old and are fully developed..some are more colorful than others..now, all the tails look the same (female) however so are starting to develop coloring on their body (the latter half).. does this happen to females or males only?

As far as I can tell, all of them have round tails.. any other way?

:/

They still have time yet to mature.

What to the parents look like? Only my male had colors in the top half of his body, and from what I could tell from my fry, the males had the sam type of coloration. :dunno:

I had read in another post that someone fry were a month old and were already showing coloration of blues and red... my fry will be one month old in two days and are still a bland brown no hints of colorations.... Is this normal??

As for sexing them, well I have decided that I have a male and a female (giggles) I'm probably wrong but it appears as if one of mine is alot rounder than the other which is flatter and longer.... Time will tell as they continue to develope as to what they truely are.

I have always been able to sex my guppy fry from 2 weeks old. The gravid spot is visible if you look carefully and if you see one then its female. I have never had a guppy have a gravid spot then lose it. I've had many batches of fry and always know by around 2 weeks old what sexes I have. I find the males are slimmer generally than the females too.

Yellow/black colouring shows up within the first 2 weeks, then reds and blues etc.

Hope this helps :)

One of my fry grew a BRIGHT orange tail before it hit a month..

Which is the Anal fin? isn't that the same as the tail?
