Sexing Golden Rams

I just got two golden rams, and I am hoping I picked out a m/f pair. I tried to go by size and whether or not the dorsal fin was slightly pointed in the front...was I just completely off? What should I have looked for? Both are just over an inch long.

I found it difficult to sex Golden rams at first, but after a while it gets easier.

Males have a slighty longer third 'spike' at the front of their dorsal fin and the back section of the dorsal fin is also slightly pointed in terms of the whole shape.

Females do not have the longer 'spike' at the front of the dorsal and the back section of the dorsal fin is rounded in shape. Also, they tend to have slightly more pink on their stomach region.
