Sexing Dwarf Gouramis

Ive already got 2 dwarf gouramis in my tank and have now bought 5 females according to the LFS
how can i be sure they havent sold me males???

while i was there i also purchased 2 male blue dwarf gouramis that are a lovely colour.

fingers crossed i will have some breeding gouramis on my hands which will be nice.

Females are much more dull colored compared to males. Males also have more 'bulbous' dorsal and anal fins and grow a little larger. When viewed from above, mature females are wider than males and, from the side, males look more streamlined while females are deeper-bodied.

from your description ive got myself 5 females to go with my 2 males.

i would post some pics but havent really got the time to wait for the fish to swim into shot.
