sexing angels

Ive been looking at the profiles trying to find a way of sexing my angels, I have found a few things searching the internet but not sure if they are true (a lump on the forehead for males, shape of the anal fin, shape of the mouth etc) but nothing seems to be very acurate.

3 of my angels are about between 4", 2 of them are 3" and one is just wee, about 1.5".

I was told you can only really tell when they are fully grown which nobne of mine are, the profile on the forum says its impossible to sew them until they breed but I wondered if anyone could tell me if there is any truth in any of the other claims of how to sex them.

Any help is apreciated and I apologise in advance if this question has been asked a million times before.

The bigger the fish the easier it is. If you can get a profile shot of each fish and a head on we might be able to tell you. Dont do it just after a feed!

Males do sometimes tend to have a hump to the head, that is usually after they are fully grown & really filled out, it takes a couple of years.

From what I've seen the males usually get slightly to quite a bit larger than the females, but this, once again, is usually with mature fish, 1+ years old.

Some people can give a pretty good guess by looking at larger fish, I once bought a couple of marbles at an auction, a friend of mine who has been breeding since before I was born told me he would bet they either are a pair or pair up. He was right, they were a pair, no breeding tubes down or any other signs, he could tell by the behavior while they were in a bag.

The only reliable way is to wait until they spawn. Or pal around with some really old, experienced breeders.

really there is no way to know until breading tubes are lowered and even then sometimes it's really hard to know.If some one can tell by behavior they are still just making an educated guess.
