Ram 1 looks like a male to me as it seems the male's body tapers downwards from the breeding tube to the anal fin cant really tell with ram 2 as its a little out of focus.

Second is very likely male, first could be female, but I'm not sure. Both are starved, try getting them fed up.

Thanks for the reples, lol this is gonna be difficult hehe, two different answers already...

I have been trying to feed them but they are still settling in and have set up their territory under the filter, behind the swords and vallis. Behaviour wise, they don;t seem to be acting like what two males would, as they are sharing the same territory and are not being aggressive. But on the other hand, they could be two females lol

Two males will normally not fight unless there were females around

Hmm, from those photos (assuming the two are roughly the same size), first one looks female, second is male.

Hmm, tbh that is what I had them down as. I suppose ill just watch for behaviour now, the 'male' definately has his territory, but I have seen him chase the 'female' away a bit..

Agree with answers so far, top one female, bottom is male, because his fins are more "pointy" and he's a bit more colorful.

They are both males. Look at the silhouette of the underbelly. I have some pics on my website that may help clarify as I point out the differences in all rams although I breed just germans.

The first one is VERY young. and the second is close to being an adult if not already, the second one is probably starting to head butt other fish as if he is starting adulthood - getting more testosterone in his body, but will settle down in a couple of weeks if you notice it.

Your quite right about ram 2s behaviour, although ram 1 is bigger than ram 2. Ill take a look on your link when I get on the comp, cheers
