Sevs And Rams - How Do You Sex Them?

I have a Bolivian ram that has now got a black vertical line through the eye, black line on first spine of its dorsal fin, black smudgee on body and orange yellow belly. I would like to get a friend foe it but don't want to end up with two fighting males.
Sev is one of those reddish orange spotted ones like the famous Vinnie

Red spots are really difficult to sex as there is barely any difference and the the differences you do see could be just down to the individual fish. I have Harry & Vinney now and to look at them you would say one is male and the other female, however they fight (thats why I ended up with Vinney in the first place).

The br I cant help you with as I have never kept them.
