My oscar has a some marks on and around his stomach where now I see my severeum pecking at and trying to bite. My oscar never had them when I got him, but I wrote it off as my never noticing or he just somehow scratched himself.

Now I really do think its my severum, and my mom has been watching him while I'm at school and she says she's seen the severum do it to. Do you think this will eventaully stop? My oscar is fine, I just don't want him to catch an infection or somthing..

My Oscar is also slightly larger, but the sevs still does it, I really don't want to have to return the severum, but I will if I have to. I really don't see what would be a better choice, the sevs are supposted to be one of the least aggressive cichlids but he's WAY more agressive than my convict, who btw is a female and fairly small in comparrison.

If I have to return the sev...what could possibly be a better choice?

Oscars can take alot of punishment before their health begins to suffer. I would leave him in the tank for now, and take the Severum out if he gets too bad.

Well, I've noticed the scrapes around his stomach (which look white btw) seem a tad, just a tad bit worse as I see a mark on the other side of his stomach today that wasn't there yesterday. I'm like 100% positive its not a disease.

I'd take it out.. in your other topic I posted how I went through 4 or 5 severums with my oscar before I found 1 that left it alone.. you might have to do the same thing..

It's a pecking order type thing.. the severum thinks it's the boss, and when new oscar comes in his territory, he don't like it..

You could try re arranging things in the tank.. If I remember correctly your tank doesn't really have much in it.. but if you could put a few places to hide, you might have luck..

As I said though, took me I think 4 severums to find one that wouldn't attack my oscar.

Yeah I already tried a bit of re arranging, but basically it chases my oscar all over the tank. You can see a pic of it caught in the action at the bottem, and the marks: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?act=ST...=0#entry1324595
