Well I was very surprised when I got home from work today. The Severum that I thought was a male seems to have laid eggs on the wall under the power filter. Its chasing the other fish away and seems to have taken over half the tank. I am pretty sure the eggs aren't fertile because the other severum (which I think is female) is still pretty small, only about 3 inchs compared to the larger one that is 5 inches.

Even you got a good male it still would be able to fertilize those egg as they were next to a filter :(. Any sperm he release will get suck into the filter. I only turn on sponge filter during spawning process to ensure not too much sucking power and I got great hatch for my discus :D. Also its suggested to remove any other fish beside the pair in the tank if you want some fry for return.

Good luck next time
Jack
