Setting up my 60 Gallon tank

I like the smaller schools too. I have a school of 7 zebra danios and they are really fun to watch.

I also just got my mom a school of Serpae Tetras, Long Fin Black Skirt Tetras and a school of albino corys for her fish tank at school and they look good too. There is lots of routes to go with smaller schools...lots to choose from...

Good luck on the new tank and let us know how it turns out.

will do thank u, i will definietely be doing 6 red long finned monor tetra (as labeled at work, they are serpae tetra) and black serpae tetra, i did this one MONTHS back for a few days and loved it, until i moved them to dads tank

yeah, I like all the Tetras...the Rummy Nose Tetras look cool too...I like tiger barbs too, but I just dont like the aggression...Im trying to have no aggression in my tank to avoid later problems..

Ive had the Long Fin Black Skirt Tetras in the past and they stayed healthy all the time...

all right cool. i was also looking at swordtails, but it says they have a short life span :( so i may not get them, but i dont know yet .... any ideas?

Swordtails are lovely fish--instant splash of colour to tank and so many colour variationsEasy to keep though the females are permanently pregnant!

I dont mind babies, if they survive its ok, if not and get eaten by parents or others it is ok, i dont want a scrammed tank, so if everyone starts to breed then i will find a way to stop it :)

Ok this is what i am going to be setting up my tank with:

Clown Pleco (4")
Rubberlipped Pleco (4")
Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami (2")
Fire Red Dwarf Gourami (2")
Marbled Angel (5")
3 Honey Dwarf Gourami (6")
Silver Tip Catfish (getting rid of it asap)
Synodontis Eupterus (6")
6 lemon tetras (9")
6 serpae tetras (9")
6 black phantom tetras (9")
10 cardinals (20")
2 bolivian rams (6")
2 blue rams (6")
6 khuli loaches

any one else have any suggestions, i still have room since these are such tiuny fish :)

Clown Pleco- 5"
RubberLipped Pleco- 7"
Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami- 2"
Fire Red Dwarf Gourami- 2"
Marbled Angel- 6"
3 Honey Dwarf Gourami- 6"
Synodontis Eupterus- 6"
6 Lemon Tetras- 12"
6 Serpae Tetras- 9"
6 Black Phantom Tetras- 10"
10 Cardinal Tetras- 20"
2 Bolivian Rams- 6"
2 Blue Rams- 8"
6 Khuli Loaches- it would add up to 18" but you would count them as about 9"

(These stats were taken from either petfish.net or badmanstropicalfish.com)

I redid your list because some measurements weren't accurate. The above list would be 108" of fish...your going to have to cut down, unfortunatly. Oh, and I didn't count the Silver Tipped Catfish, because you said you would be getting rid of it.
Personaly, I would get rid of all the dwarf gouramis accept for one because males can be aggressive towards each other (unless you can find some females). I would have just one pair of rams, not two. And you really only need one pleco, they are big poop machines. These are just some suggestions and you don't have to follow them but I wouldn't think about adding any more fish to your list.

the three tank set ups i have gone through are:

medium sized community (medium sized fish, all peaceful)
small schooling community (may be pretty :))
small cichlid tank

havent totally decided on which one yet :)
what do you do with ur fish when u keep getting bord of them? not trying to sound rude m8 but slow down stock ur tank slow im no expert but do u think maybe your are putting stress on your fish keep moving or getting rid of them,i hope you do make up your mind what you want and give them a good home which im sure you will,i recomend CONGO tetras they do grow to about 90mm though but they look stunning in the right lighting there also cool as they have teeth like piranha need to be in a shoal min or 6 and space! best of luck with ur tank m8

my ph is at about 7.4-7.6, i have live plants and co2 running through the tank, i have not moved really any fish more than once, either to another tank or to my lfs, so i havent stressed anyone out, and i havent stocked my tank yet. The inch per rule doesnt totally apply as much to schooling fish and small fish under 2 inches.
