so I have a between 6 and 8 gallon tank for guppy fry. I haven't actually bred guppies SUCCESSFULLY yet, but this site is really helping me find where I went wrong. my guppies have had fry before I just haven't been successful raising them (or catching them and some times i don't even know they were born until too late!).
so heres my plan:
set up bare bottom tank.there will only be some plastic plants not real ones.there WILL be a heater. there will NOT be a filter(I am prepared for constant water changes)and I will feed them powdered adult food(I raised a single mosquito fish fry on that stuff so I am pretty confident)
here are my questions:
what temp should I set the heater to?how much and how often do I feed fry? when are the fry old enough to go with the parents?
any help is appreciated!and if there is anything I missed I am open to ideas!

Just guessing here... My fry are surviving like crazy with no help from me! Lol. More fry survived my ick outbreak than adults did.

I'd say keep the temp around 76?

Feed them once a day? Or play around with the amount. If there is a lot left uneaten, feed less.

They can go with the Rents when they are big enough not to get eaten!  :)

ok, thanks

I know, its kind of funny that every one else has a guppy PROBLEM but mine dont survive!

try feeding them baby brine shrimp, egg yolk and powdered flakes they will surely love it. mine i feed them 3 to 4 times a day.
a good temp is 78-80F this increases their metabolism for fast growth. if you want good water quality try sponge filter they are cheap and easy to use and it will not suck your guppy frys.

Good luck , hope this helps!

Guppies should be fed on good quality flake/ variety  of foods and should have some live foods in there diet . They can tolerate a wide temperature rang They do very well  at 70f – 74f. and can live up to three years .

increasing their metabolism for fast growth can shorten there life span and course many problems.
