I have moved hoem recently and upgraded my freshwater aquarium from a 22gallon to 100g tank and added a few more fish and everyting is progressing brilliently. Anyway I now have a spare 22gallon tank with heater, eheim ecco filter/pump, light, hoo etc. I have started to get the urge to set back up this tank with a more spcific theme in mind, I have toyed with the idea of different freshwater biotopes etc, but am also very interested in keeping saltwate fish. Please could you advise what else I would require in order to run a succseful saltwater tank, what would be involved in setting the tank up and running, and what types of fish could I accomidate successfully and of course most importantly healthely in a tank of this size. The actual measurements are 36 x 12 x 12 I believe.

Thanks in advance

Check out the posts pinned to the top of the Marine & Reef Chat forum :) There are several topics there that cover a lot of the questions you're asking.

You would be looking at doing what's referred to as a "nano-tank" which brings its own challenges, but can be very rewarding!

Once you look through the pinned topics, let us know if you have any other questions!
