Ok......so I have decided that I want to set up my Juwel Rekord 60 as a "little" fish tank.It is a 24"x12"x12".
I was thinking of getting some cardinal tetras(I have never had these before),but I was in one of my local maidenhead aquatics on monday and saw some blue panchax.
I have some golden wonder panchax and would definitely not keep cardinals with these.
I have looked up the blue panchax, but all the info I can find is so varied I thought I would ask for advice here.
Will it be ok to keep these fish together?....Or do I need to have a re-think?

they are possibly
lampeye panchax Micropanchax macrophthalmus
or nromans lampeye Aplocheilichthys normani
very similar fish and often sold as blue panchax, blue killifish or lampeyes.

I had M.macrophthalmus before and they are a very sensative fish,
requires bi-weekly water changes to keep happy and healthy.

The name I came across was Aplocheilus panchax.
Water changes are easy enough on such a small tank.....but can I keep them with cardinal tetras?

if Aplocheilus panchax is indeed the correct name then they are
usually found in shallow lagoons and swamps among roots and mangroves along the margins of waters.
They prefer clear water in areas with dense growth of rooted or floating macrophytes. They sometimes occure in hypersaline waters.
A. panchax feeds mainly on insects and are often utilized for mosquito control. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium.

no a difinitive answer to your question, personally I'd say no.

Thanks Paul......I will have a think, but I may just risk it anyway. :dunno:
