Hi all ,
O.k i have tryed my hand at a planted tank, and failed. So i bought a load of fake plastic plants which was o.k for a while . Now they have turned horrible.

SOOO.

I need some help . I have bought some reflectors for the lights which has a made my 2 planted plants(only ones left) better even though they are still a bit yellow. My tank is now 3wpg.

So Someone said i need co2 injection. Will someone please explain which system is best (I have read up on it but there is lots of different ones on the market.). Also is gravel o.k to grow plants or is there something i need to add under the gravel.?

I need a, how to set it up,what to buy , how to maintain manual.

Pllllllleease help.

first off what size is your tank and how many watts of light do you have? (3wpg on a 5g is nothing, but on a 100g would be loads!)

do you add any ferts?

i would hardly call it wisdom!

3wpg on a 40g tank NEEDS CO2! what plants have you got at the moment? also what ferts are you using?

I'm no planted expert (far from it! but im adding ferts every week! (maybe its me in the wrong?) )

Anyways as for routes with CO2 i've only ever used yeast based systems but i know that a pressurised (sp??) system is much better, just costs ALOT more in the beginning. Also i have gravel and its fine for me, i just add root tabs every month or so :good:

Like i said im no expert, in fact im only just learning tbh! but i can tell you what works for me

I have 2wpg on my 83g tank, gravel with root tabs, weekly dose with tropica plant nutrition (been told a few times its one of the best, never used any other though) and 3 nutrafin CO2 kits (soon to be 5 though) This works well for me with steady, healthy plant growth  although i am growing easy to care for plants

Thanks i think it does too!

yeah root tabs are just tablets you put in near/under plants to give them nutrients. Heavy root feeders like crypts need them (well i think they need them, may just be advised)

They need to be replaced every now and then (varies on the make)
