ok, i want some nice size fish, that r colorful, and will get along with my serpae tetra, he is my prized fish. he is 100% healthy, and needs freinds to rase the happiness meter :) . so what fish can get along, i alread know: loachs, guppies, mollies, tetras and other platties can get along. but what else?

well, there were no more serpae's at the store, so, i got another tetra, along with 2 other fish. the tetra i got was a albino buineous aires tetra. then i got a rainbow shark and a fancy guppy, the all seem happy. :)

Serpaes are extremely nippy when in small groups. You need at least 5 or they will harass anything else in the tank and nip their fins All tetras need groups. Keep an eye on the serpae or he may attack the other tetra you have. What size tank is it?

first off, he has never been nippy, heck, i've had him in tank with compeltely smaller fish, and didn't even charge. but, i don't know if the lfs will sell anymore serpae tetras, and i've haven't seen any at petsmart before. and i know for a fact the serpae won't attack the other tetra, he's way, bigger than him. but they r both so freindly :) .

Yes, that may be true, but tetras are schooling fish and are *always* happier in groups than when kept alone.

What size tank?

I would imagine your LFS or Petsmart will get more in. Serpaes are one of the more popular tetras because of their bright color. I would definitely look to get more. He may not be nippy yet but he will be eventually. By the way, Buenos Aires Tetras are probably one of the most aggressive tetras too so that is another potential problem. I would definitley look to increase the numbers on both of those to a minimum of 3 each and preferably 6 each.
