Serpae Tetra Killing Rams

:-( My second ram died just now... poor little guy was too stressed out i guess,

This is quite annoying to think thats it was my choice in fish that killed the rams and not the water conditions. The main reason i was against getting the rams were that they die if the conditions arnt spot on, but i got that right.. really disappointed in myself for picking serpeas :(

I still wouldn't be too quick to accuse the serpaes of being the culprit. How long have you have the tanks set up. Rams generally need an established tank. Also, they need LOTS of hiding places. The lack of hiding places or having 4 in a 45 gallon may be the cause of the stress. Just guessing on this but I have had my serpaes since January with absolutely no problems. Also, I don't know why they would bother the rams and not the corys. I would almost thing you would have more of a compatibility problem with the rams and corys, especially when the rams are breeding since they are both bottom dwellers.

well my ram had been really chewed up, fins missing :(:(:( i was watching them and its really sad, they just keep picking at him and when he turns to defend its self another takes a bit. the only thing i could do was to remove the serpaes but :( the tanks been up and running bout 2 months, all the water stats are fine and there is lots and lots of hiding space
