Well, in two days I need to transport my tank that is home to my breeding pair of kribs along with their 30 fry.

The fry will be free swimming for just about a week at the time of transport. Is this going to be hard to separate them this early?

How do you think the parents will take this?

Anyone ever had to do this before?

Thanks!

I guess I am just really worried!

Does anyone have any input on this?

Even if you have not done it, please, let me know what you think!?

I need to move them tomorrow!

Thanks!

It may be a bit later for this, but they might die. The stress will be hard on them. I would suggest using stress coat of some kind to help keep them calm. Also, make sure they have a lot of air. The parents may not recognize the fry when you re-introduce them. Add like 4 and see if the parents eat them, or take care of them.

Well, I moved them back a couple days ago. At first I had the fry separate the parents in anther tank, but the fry were just sitting there not moving around and I felt bad for taking them away from their parents. So I decided to move them back with their parents. To my surprise the parents took them all back in! Both the female and the male colored right back up, their fins were erect and they were both swimming around with what seemed to be joy! I felt a lot better when I re-introduced the fry with their parents, and I think the parents were happy as well! The fry even started to swim all over the place, and seemed very happy as well! All-in-all the moving process seemed to have resulted in a happy ending.

But like you mentioned, Kribensis12, I did loose a couple fry unfortunately. Oh well I guess as there is nothing I can do about it. I just hope her next batch will have good results. This batch now, her second batch, was twice as big as her first. So I am hoping that her third batch is even bigger than her previous one!

I had a separate tank, but now I moved them back in with their parents.
