last time i fed was 4 days ago, and it was a very small cut of prawn.
can they recover from this?
should i treat for internal parasites and hope that it's not blockage?

He looks pretty bad and looks to be in pain. Definately could be blockage. Do you see him poop? Also could be a massive bacterial infection. Did you skin the prawns? Shells can cause blockage if they aren't run through a food processor. Either is very very bad and you should probably euthenize him if it is either of these 2.

cant tell :/
does he seem ok?
look for poop from him and if not, there maybe trouble.

Definitely blockage, probably from the gravel. The only thing I could recommend is trying to "burp" the senegal, by taking it out of the water and rubbing the lump from back to front. Other than that, I have no idea. :flowers: :(

the prawns i fed were de shelled and fully cooked. i haven't seen poo lately. when i look at the bichir from the bottom when it is swimming, the belly is opaque with a dark section in the middle.
I just tried to "burp" it and it just kept biting me.
I don't think i'd be able to kill it. i'm going to hope for the best and leave it in.
