Can i use seltzer water as a CO2 source for my plants? if so, how can i control the amount needed. also would the co2 just come right out of the tank? thanks!

A flavorless, naturally effervescent water that takes its name from the town of Nieder Selters in the Weisbaden region of Germany. Human-made "seltzer," also referred to as soda water , was introduced in the latter half of the 18th century when carbon dioxide was injected into water. The original seltzer was the forerunner to soda pops, which came into being in the 1840s when flavors were added to seltzer water. Source

Its a drink they have in the USA which is water with natural CO2 in it from springs. its basically carbonated water and it just has water + CO2

If I can add that this is how Amano first learned to add CO2 to his tank, he just used carbonated water, lost a great many fish, but it was his early experiments with it that has given rise to importance of CO2 in planted tanks

I do not at all recommend.

It will cause a pH crash and then the CO2 will be quickly expelled from the water. It was discussed on here a short wile back.

You will not be able to maintain a stable CO2 concentration without standing over the tank 24/7 pouring little amounts in.

I doubt you will be able to even get to a recommended or useful CO2 concentration without it costing you a fortune in fizzy water!!

I would personally give it a miss, amano`s old strategies or not!!!
