Selling Fry

Just contact all your local fish stores.......

I found that the larger stores aren't really interested as their supplies are regular and orderly.

The medium to smaller type of place is probably your best bet, but let them know in advance that you may have some available in a couple of months (most lfs only take them at about an inch long). Whether they take them will then depend on what their stock levels are at the time that they are ready.

Good Luck..... ;)

well unless u'v got somthing special there then the lfs would be the place, if u raise the fry to about a month the lfs will take them for feeder guppys and if u raise them to adults they will either take them, buy them, or give store credit. my lfs give store credit so that how i get rid of my guppys, i userally rasi mine to adults or just let them get eaten by the parents, its to much work to raise fry for a month and know they are gunna be someones dinner anyway.

I don't have much to add, except basically to agree. The first time I had fry born I asked someone at a LFS if they would buy extras and they said they would give store credit, but to wait until they were about an inch long or they would be sold as feeders (and be worth less credit).

GuppyDude is right. With lifebearers it is difficult to get decent amount of money/credits as they are simply too easy to breed and raise.

If you are interested in getting more credits, try to raise something that are rarer and harder to breed that are still in demand... (easier said than done... ). Try calling your LFSes to see what kind of fishes will they want to buy from you.

As an example, I found stores who would buy the following from me, if they are of reasonable sizes:

- Albini bristlenose pleco
- Panda C
- Sterbai C
- P demasoni
- Synodontis
- A Calvus
- Clown Loaches (ha! good luck breeding these!)
- other rare and exotic looking catfishes of decent sizes.

The list goes on...
