Just added a seio m620 (2400lph) to my 1/3 full tank with liverock (abuot 13g). The flow is pathetic, tried an alternative one, both do the same. I added my 1400 pump instead and it is whizzing the water around... what can be wrong?!

Are they brand new?
Try taking them completely apart and outting them back together worked once with me. However compared to the 820s which i changed too there def is a difference but if ur doing a reef unless uve got a long tank the current can then be too strong for most soft and LPS corals, so ive had to turn mine down abit lol. Dont forget they blow a larger, wider current then the small outpipe pumps.

Remember that the Seio pumps work on a similar (cheaper) system to the Tunze Stream. Rather than a needle jet they push the water over a wider area.

So, hmm.. well, maybe that is what is going on then. So they don't ripple the water alot then huh?

Agreed, Seios use very diffuse flowrate so you may not really feel lots of flow. Depending on where they are placed in the water column they may or may not ripple the surface

Remember that rotating the dial at the front of the powerhead will increase the flow

the seio is made for flow rate not pressure, the angle of the out flow is very wide not like standard PH's where the relatively slim outlet nozzle gives a higher pressure flow to a narrower range

Agree with all the above

A powerhead has a very small jet outlet and so the velocity ( not flow ) is much higher, because the Seio's have a wider 'cone' then although the flow is way higher than most powerheads, the velocity is much lower

We have 3 x M1100's in a 75 gallon and since we changed over to Seio's rather than powerheads the corals and inverts are much happier
