Obviously the spawn won't all be melano, there should be some steel's mixed in with them

No idea, Shell, sorry - one question I never thought to ask.
I wasn't going to breed the male, but after reading that melano's can be produced by pairing with a steel blue female only I thought it would be an interesting spawn to watch grow so requested the female to be brought in as well.

Melano fry are particularly difficult to raise for some reason, they'd always die off on me right when they start darkening up. Best of luck to ya.
