Second Tank

I have a platy who is heavily pregnant and seems to be getting aggitated by 2 other platties in the tank and have no other tank to put her in. What would you suggest i put her in until she gives birth

If the other platies are males then get some more females if you have the room.

i havent got time she is in labour now

do you have a breeding trap or net? if not ur kinda stuck and she will just be stressed having them in the tank if she is being harased by males.

a long shot i pose if you have a big plastic tub poke some holes in it and some how attach it to the tank and place her in it with some plants for the fry to hide in


just a make shift holding pen untill you can get out and buy somthing better

I actually had this same problem but with a swordtail. What I did was scoop them up in the net and then actually tape it to the rim of the tank. A temporary solution. You hve to make sure that the fry don't get stuck in shallow water though as the net will cave in in some places.

yes. my fish gave birth but my breeder trap has holes in the bottom and i dont know if they will stay in
