Second Hand Tank 40 Gallons

Hi all, i'm about to buy a tank but it's got 2 drilled holes at the bottom for an external pump or something...i've only ever used internal in my 8 gallon and dont really want to go hardcore with all the wires and stuff. The guy offerd to put a piece of glass over the holes. What do you think i should do?

as long as each piece of glass is properly glued with decent aquarium sealant/silicone and you do a test run for leaks before filling properly you should be fine.
