Seahorses

Hey there!

My girlfriend saw some SeaHorse at the London Aquarium... and... you guessed it.. she wants one!

What is the basic needs for a seahorse? Where can you get them? And has anyone got any good links or advice?

Well, that is a saltwater fish. If you are running freshwater tanks, you won't be able to get one. If you do have a saltwater tank, you will be better asking in a saltwater forum. HTH

They are pretty difficult to look after, the salt water section has lots of info and people that can help

definately do not get one just because oyur gf wants one. From what ive heard and read they are very tricky and specialised fish. if you do want to get one the look on seahorse.org ,i think thats the site, it has plenty of information on them

We came acroos seahorses today at our lfs and they are beautiful.

My son recently caught one when out fishing with a net, his friend took a quick photo on camera phone then placed it back in water, apparently they are very rare in our waters and none had been spotted for quite some years

My son was quitesad though cos he really wanted to bring it home
