why dose phosphate with flourish then remove it with phosguard?

Also the 'fresh trace' basically contains more trace elements than flourish, you might aswell dose more plant fertiliser ;) Seems pointless and a waste of money to me, if your fish are doing fine then why add something that may not even help?

Fair point. I didn't think Fresh Trace was necessary but just wondered if it'd be beneficial.

There is only 0.01% Phosphate in Flourish. There was 3ppm in my water supply last time I checked. I was having a few algae issues and was instructed to use a Phosphate remover for reducing algae growth.

I was more interested in Stability to be honest as I recently suffered a nitrite spike and wondered whether adding something like that would help rebuild bacterial colonies.

I am not sure about that either, to me it is just another bacteria in a bottle product

seachem products are good as you know jimbo cured my nitrite spike so it just goes to show that these "bacteria in a bottle work" well this one does anyway i wouldnt be adding too many chemicals into my tank though

Yeah that was my main concern, whether it's JUST another bottle of useless liquid with a well written sales pitch or something that would make a difference.

Prime is different foley, it chemically detoxifies the nitrite whilst the existing bacteria in your filter convert it to nitrate as usual. Just more efficiently in a detoxified state apparently.

Has it completely got rid of it already? Bear in mind, I recently discovered Prime's only active in your tank for 24-48 hours then it starts to dissipate. So there won't be any to detoxify any new nitrite after that time, so i'd keep an eye on it with those big fish you've got.
