Hi guys I’m just wondering if it would be safe to apply seachem prime directly to aquarium while refilling it with tap water rather than putting 3Ml of prime in a 14L bucket 2-3 times during a water change, also if this is possible to add it direct to aquarium before adding tap water back in, what amount of seachem prime In ml would be suited to a 130L tank.

many thanks

You shouldn't overdose your conditioner which is what you would be doing adding it to the tank first, and you should dechlorinate the water before putting it in the tank.
Get a 5ml syringe to make dosing easier. You'll find them on eBay.

This is what I do I have pipettes which measure 5Ml and in dose 5Ml per 14L of tap water before putting into tank ?

you can add it to the tank prior to filling. never exceed the max dose, which is 5ml for 40 litres

If you are refilling with a bucket, it is safest to add the water conditioner to the bucket at the dose rate for the volume of the bucket. It's mainly people who refill with a hose who add the whole amount straight into the tank.

According to Seachem's website, my bold text
Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 US gallons) of new water. ..........but better if added to new water first.
So you should be adding 0.35ml to each 14 litre bucket of water before putting it in the tank.

Thanks a lot! I’ve did a water change before checking this and I added 2Ml per bucket

That's way too much, I'm afraid. If 5 ml treats 200 litres new water, 2 ml is enough for 80 litres of new water.
According to Prime's instructions, it only when adding it straight to the tank that you use enough for the whole tank volume. This is mainly done by those people who use a hosepipe to refill the tank. If using buckets, just add the amount for the volume of the bucket in each bucket.
You need a 1 ml syringe, and add just 0.35 ml to each 14 litres of new water in the bucket.
