From what I understand, Seachem Flourish Excel is primarily designed to provide carbon where no CO2 is added and, as a bonus, it kills algae too.

I'm interested in it's ability to kill algae but cannot work out whether it is OK to use whilst I have my CO2 running?

Anyone know the answer to this?

Cheers

I'm currently dosing at 3x the rate to get rid of a bit of BBA and I'm also running CO2. No apparent problems with fish or plants.

You run the CO2 as normal and OD the excel at the same time, just keep an eye on your fish and plants for any problems. Spot treatment can be very effective as well with excel, especially with bba, knock off your filter and use a syringe and squirt the solution directly at the affected areas, let the excel do its thing for 5-10 minutes and then turn the filter back on. Use the amount of solution in the syringe that you would normally dose for the whole tank, the OD rate i mean. Spot treating is perfect if you dont have a bad infestation, the results can be seen within a few days as the algae goes white and dies off.
