Sea Shells

I bought a basket of sea shells from The Rejects Shop today. Some of them are large enough to use as caves. If I wash and steralise them will it be ok to put them in my tank?

They'll raise your PH/hardness, but should otherwise be safe.

I woudlnt worry about sterilizing them tbh.
Theres not alot of parasitic, and otherwise bad bacteria that can survive on such a surface at that level of dryness for that long.

thanks, I've already steralised them, heaven only knows where they came from or where they've been!

I know where you're coming from (im honestly not trying to make fun of you or anything) but critically thinking speaking, whats the chances that there are bad bacteria alive on the shells?
