I collected some glass off of the river that has been smoothed down like sea glass, I was wondering if I wash it well would it be okay to put in my betta tank? All of the edges are smooth.

If you dont know what I am talking about or need a visual, here is a link to River Glass (not mine): http://www.glassbottlemarks.com/sea-glass-beach-glass/

Thanks!

Also, can pottery be put in a tank?

should be fine, if you want to be more cautious you can boil them, that may be a hazard though, idk if glass can explode or whatever you never know haha, if not then you could pet them in i think 1 parts bleach and 6 parts water, i forgot the ratio, or in some white vinegar.

These are some things i would do to be safe, but generally, especially if now dry, glass would not harbor any harmful bacteria, and if its smoothed river glass then it will not be a physical harm to the betta.

The glass should be fine if thoroughly washed.  The pottery is another matter.  If it is ordinary clay, it is OK; flower pots made of clay are often used to create caves for some species of fish that need these as spawning caves.  The problem would be any additives for colour, etc, as these will or might leech out over time.
