anyone have anythign bad to say about this skimmer? I know its not as good as a remora, but at 60$ instead of 120$ I can afford to get one for each of my ten gallon tanks. Anyone?

I guess the other thing Im getting at here is that its rated upto 100 gallons, at what point am I doing an overkill since Im trying to find a skimmer for a 10 gallon tank?

You're there...overkill that is. IMO, don't waste your money for a skimmer for a 10 gallon nano tank. You'd be better served using the money to buy the salt for the water changes you use for the weekly water changes. Anyway, SeaClones get thumbs down in most posts/reviews I've read.

Honestly, I bought an AquaC Remora for my 24G. The few times I've used it, it only pulled out about a cup of green tea looking water and not foul smelling either. It didn't look anything like that horrible 'oily, foul smelling' stuff others claim they pull out. But then again, I do my weekly WC's. IMO, save your money if it's a ten. SH

ok so save money.

do you think I should use the hang on filters that came with them? even if its just for a little flow? carbon isnt a bad thing and it is fowlr so no worries about nitrites and such.

A HOB filter is a good place to put your filter media. AquaClears are good for this...you can put your ChemiPure, Purigen, phospate binder, etc in it. What kind of filter do you have/ are you planning on using? SH

it came with whisper filters, comes with activated carbon etc. might just use them for the flow.

I have a small Whisper on a 10G FW. Doesn't circulate water well with regards to speed/flow. HOWEVER, it does expose water to air and ...good for aeration/oxygenation then if you don't intend to add media to it. Any flow is good flow....well..most of the time. SH

I might not bother using the whispers, I think I might just locate two small powerheads to put in each tank. I would rather use them to get the flow than something that acctually pulls the water out of the tank.
