Fish Crazy
I'm not one to name my fish... but there is one fry that I shall call scrappy.
I put three platys into a quar tank (because they were newely bought). A few days went by and I say 2 fry... odd I thought because I've always gotten fry in larger batches-litters-whatever. Weeks went by and I deemed them safe to put in my big tank and but left them in the quar to keep it cycled for the next round of fish. I finally bought two puffers (which will be permanently housed in what was the quar tank) I kept the quar tank simple... sort of... I had one small piece of driftwood and a little java moss. I moved the platies and added more driftwood and other stuff to give territories for the puffers. Upon moving everything around I saw the smallest developed fry I've ever seen. He was as small as a just born fry but you could make out all the fins and other details that aren't usually as noticable.
Regardless of the tank I put him in I knew he'd be lunch so I just left him in the puffer tank. Days have now gone by and I did a water change and low and behold... he is still around... impressive. I don't give him much of a chance of surviving but who knows... maybe he'll be good about staying out of sight and out of reach... He's proven me wrong so far... I didn't give him more than a day.
