School Of Sharks

Im buying a new corner unit tank 100L (25 Gallon) to fit into my new conservatory. I have always wanted Sharks. Im pretty positive that i can keep red tailed sharks but is this tank too small for Bala/black sharks.?
Whats the largest school of red tailed sharks that i can put together.? I dont plan on putting any fish into this tank..just sharks, Is this possible. Maybe yo ucould suggest a bigger tank.?

You are right it is too small for silver sharks. really need a 6x2x2 for a decent shoal of them.

Keeping multiple RTBS or Rainbow Sharks is not really an option in a tank that size. The minimum for more than one would be around 6x18x18 and even then aggression could cause major problems.

Red Tails are very aggressive and territorial and you can keep only one. Bala's grow to over a foot long. Do a search on google before anything and you can get an idea for yourself. If you want a school then you need something that is a non-territorial fish small enough to keep as a group in your tank.

i believe balas are active swimmers, so the longer the tank the better!

Bala sharks grow 14 inches and need to be in a group of at least 3 preferably more, there is no room in a 25 gal tank for a group. Have a look at buenos aires tetras, they look sharky and only grow 3 inches.

Not sure where you read that, but I disagree...

CFC has the minimum tank size as 75G MINIMUM in the bala shark entry on the fish index.

25G is also too small for a RTBS.

Barry, I see you've been a member of this forum for 6 months and posted 170 times, SURELY you know by now that you can't put a Bala in a 100L tank, don't you? I was a bit worried my 5ft- 600L tank was a bit small for my 3 Balas !

As for asking about Black sharks well I'm lost for words, just take a look at THIS site and ask yourself would a single black shark, let alone a school of them, be happy in a tank that holds 100L.

You want a tank that fits in your conservatory, please get fish that fit your tank.

Oh by the way your current 60L is way overstocked, 1 inch of fish per gallon is the rule, you have 14 gallons and over 30 inchs of fish, the Gold Gouramis need a lot more room for a start.THIS site tells you what they need.

Yes you sound dude fatboy but sure im man enough to take it. By the way, i was asking the question so as to get a response. As you can see from the responses (the non rude ones) my plans are twarted. And as for my overstocked tank, you may have seen already that i am tryign to get rid of the 2 x golds but alas no one will take them..so its flush flush!!

And by the way, at the end of my thread i do ask the question "Maybe you could suggest a bigger tank.?". So rather than bitching on about this that and the other why couldnt he just have said..
"try an 800L tank barry"
