I was just sat here, reading the forum and happened to glance over at my sorority and saw some thing odd.
At first it seemed to be a bit of prawn  and I thought "oh jeez that's gonna stink" as it was around Monday I gave them prawn and I thought I'd removed all the uneaten bits.
So, I looked closer and see it looks to be the head of Fizzy (my cellophane)
Now, each part of the tank is hexagon shaped acrylic so at each "corner" the view distorts a little.
From 3 different sides all I could see was her head - looked it she has literally been chopped in two :shout:
By now I'm starting to panic and suddenly the little madam moves
Seems that between the distortion and her being on a piece of java moss covered bogwood it was an optical illusion - she's all well and good and in one piece.
*phew* panic over

lol i hate it when that happens.

when youre trying to do a headcount, and you look through a corner, you have 2 more fish than expected, or they lie on the floor looking beaten, you rush over and they saunter off

at least theyre ok though!!

Ah that seems scary, i know how you mean from different sides of the tank it gives off a weird affect I'm glad shes in one peice!
I had a scare yesterday, when i noticed one of my girls in the sorority lay in the plant on her side not moving so i quickly went and saved her, turns out she was actually stuckin in the plant, i thought she was dead! They do scare us!

I have an octagon shaped tank and sometimes it looks like I have 3 times more fish and sometimes one of the fish looks like its been stretched and it often worries me too but then when i have a closer look theyre all fine  .

Eeek, that must have been petrifying! I have the same problem with one of my tanks always looks like my fish have been cloned!

Yep, I feed my bettas everything I feed my community.
Earlier this week I made kebabs for them all.
Took some bamboo skewers (to make my life easier) and threaded small pieces of prawn, squid and mussel onto the skewers and put them in the tanks.
Amazing to watch the fish peruse the food on offer, then stalk it, and suddenly grab the piece they want, twisting and ripping it - savage little creatures LOL
The girls went to town right away on theirs, the boys took a while longer to realise it was food and the community tank devoured the lot in next to no time =)
