Scarlet Rainbow Fish

Hi all,

Looking for Scarlet Rainbow picture with their breeding info....(one of the LFS has small babies (silvery scales)

The fish looks like in this link ( silver fish) Would like to know will it turn red.

Like in the other thread someone mentioned in the other thread, it could be on of two species of Glossolepis (the red ones certainly are). In either, males turn red. Females aren't. Usually, they reach maturity at around 2-3 inches.

Glossolepis incisus females have a greenish coloration and silvery sheen. This species is IIRC, commonly called a red irian (although I imagine they're often confused). Of the ones I've seen, you can readily tell the difference between M/F in the fish for sale at the LFS.

Glossolepis psuedoincisus females apparently "have strong horizontal zigzagging yellow stripe colouration across the whole body" according to Here
