Hey everyone.

Not sure if you have read previous topics I have posted, if not lemme update you.

I have a 13gal tank currently stocked with:

1 x Male Betta
5 x Amano Shrimp and
5 x White-Could Minnows (I think... they are like a golden colour)

(Am thinking about moving the shrimp from this tank back in with my Guppies)

The Minnows were fine at first after I acclimatized them, swimming against the filters current and exploring, however I just went to feed my Betta and now they are in hiding lol!

Not sure if they are still shy because I have only just recently added them to the tank... will they become friendly towards me? or will they always swim and hide...? lol

Oh also another question.

What else could I add to the tank?

I wanted an algae eater preferably... any suggestions would be taken into consideration :good:

Here's a pic of my tank:

then its best not to have an algae eater. if you have algae its best to find the source and resolve where poss not buy a fish to try and clear it as it probably wont. if you dont have algae you dont want an algae eater surely.......!

corys?
bulldog plec?
bristlenose plec?
kuhli loaches?

i guess it depends on temp and pH too though..

I think I'm gonna go with the bulldog Plec,

Saw one of those today when I bought My Minnows and liked the look of it... may go back and buy one tomorrow lol!

How much more stock could I have in this tank?

Like could I add a few more Minnows, or something else like the Minnows...?

What are shrimp like regarding the bio-load and do they contribute towards the stocking capacity...?

White clouds are a temperate water fish, meaning they they don't like their water too warm, but warmer than a cold water fish would. The first thing I would try is to lower the tank temp a few degrees.

Although the normal temperature range of the species in the wild is 18–26 °C (64–72 °F), it can survive water temperatures down to 5°C (41°F).[

That places you currently at the upper end of the temperature requirement.
