Scales?

I went somewhere for 2 hours and came back to find a scale hangin from my bettas body.

the scale is very close to is curadal fin.

is this normal?

I've found one like this on my betta today, he likes to bomb about though and squeeze into tight spaces so I figured mine got knocked off, poor thing
