Hi am new here and I need to know if two of the fish I have are ok the first I think its a paroon shark its mad swimming back and two all the time as fast as it can. Could my tank be to small its 150liters.

The second fish I don't know what it is called all I know is its a catfish I can not see it it was only in the tank for one day I checked under the wood the the plants and still no look?

Thanks for any help.

What else is in the tank and did you cycle it before you added fish? Are the other fish okay?

The catfish is, I think, a synodontis species, which are usually quite expensive - what did you pay for it? Could also be a pimelodus, I can't really tell from that angle.

Hi and Welcome :)

no idea what a paroon shark is, do you have a pic or scientific name for it?

the catfish looks like a baby Synodontis decorus. They are nocturnal schooling fish that need good water quality and hard alkaline water. If the tank is new, less than a month old, then the water might not be up to scratch and the shark could be stressing out and the catfish hiding because of it.

He's back god knows were he went I paid £5.75 for him.
The tank is 3months old the tank is yes it was all cycled before I added any fish.
All my other fish are ok I tested the water it is all spot on.

I have 7platys 9guppies 3 clown loch also.

If you have more catfish they will be more inclined to come out. Also having lots of plants and wood in the tank will hep them feel more secure and spend more time out.

I do have a lot of wood in the tank he becoming less shy day by day. thanks
