Saved an oscar from Walmart

I saw this little guy last Wednesday when they got him in... he was BEAUTIFUL and I fell in love. I almost bought him then and there, but I knew he was probably too small to live with my oscar, so I resisted. Then I saw him again yesterday -- pale, hiding in the corner, with an obvious wound on his lip. I couldn't just leave him there, could I?
I waited nearly 30 minutes behind three other families that were buying fish to get him. He's currently in the hospital tank receiving treatment for his lip, along with my bichir who smacked his head into a rock and cut himself. The bichir has been snuggling up to him all day
I figure I can try housing him with my other oscar when I get a bigger tank... and if that doesn't work, I can give him to my LFS. I know they'd take excellent care of him, so at least he doesn't have to die in Walmart's horribly filthy and completely bare tank

He's honestly a really nice looking fish when he's coloured up... he looks pretty shabby right now, poor guy

Bad news... apparently the little guy died during the night
This comes as quite a shock, since he was swimming around yesterday and even ate a pellet or two. I guess he was just too weak to make it. RIP little oscar
At least he had a peaceful passing in a clean tank with warm water and an extremely friendly bichir to keep him company.
