Sand......

I have an empty 29 gal. and i have decided to get shell dewllers then only problem is i have never used sand and they require sand how hard is it to keep sand? and does anyone know a site i can order shell dwellers off of? thanks for the help

I just started using sand (literally, I've only had sand for a few days in my Nano), and so far what i've seen is that it easily looks dirty.
It is pretty easy to clean, but you need to clean it pretty fequintly.
Or atleast once a week, which is pretty normal.
You also dont want really white sand....

I have sand and its a pain to keep looking nice but if you had black sand it mite look less messy. As for cleaning, its easy I use a garden hose and hold it about 1/2 above the sand and the dirt gets sucked up

ya i have no idea how to clean it so any tips on that would help too
